So Similar

I'm back again.  I'm hoping that this blog will evolve into something great one day.  Until then, I thought I'd share some thoughts.
Have any of you been swooning over this bracelet from J.Crew?
$125

$125 for this bracelet?  I'm not going to lie...there have been a couple moments where I have honestly thought about splurging for it.  What's so great some of you are asking?  This bracelet is sort of oversized - and looks phenom next to an oversized watch.  So naturally I've been on the look out for a more reasonably priced look alike.  I went to my next most trusted jewelry page Bauble Bar.  Check out the bracelet ....$78.  Okay yes ...better than $125.  But I still didn't know if I was ready to enter my info just yet.

Welcome, Sira & Mara.  I noticed one of my favorite fashion blogs Happily Grey was wearing this bracelet.  EXCEPT ...it wasn't J.Crew or Bauble Bar.
So...the big question...how much?  $33.50.
Moral of this post? Sold.

It has been probably 4-5 months since my last post.  In my own defense let me give a one sentence explanation.  I graduated, studied for the bar, and then waited in anxiety for the bar results.  Here we are.  I passed! Thank god.  It was terrible waiting.  But since I'm back and have a slightly more regular schedule, I thought it was time.  So here I am.  Here are a few pictures to give a glimpse of what my life has been like the last few months.

1.  We moved on top of all of this!
2.  I spent some time in Florida after the exam relaxing & eating
3. All 3 of us the day we found out we passed the bar!
4.  Some of our friends were in town with their oh so cute little 6 month old named Jett (is that future quarterback material or what?)
5.  The leaves are changing!

Tuesday

I know what you're thinking.  I haven't been here since a week ago.  I'm sorrrryyyyy.  I've been so busy wrapping up the semester! Yay!
I've been meaning to post about this for at least a couple weeks but check this out.
Tory Burch $198
Tommy Hilfiger $98
Old Navy $29.94

Don't worry, I've got another.

Stuart Weitzman $365
Diane Von Furstenberg $298

Target $24
I purchased the Target wedges last weekend.  I got so many compliments, including: "are those the new DVF Wedges?"  (I had a giggle and inner monologue consisting of "sure glad I bought these suckas")

Tuesday

I ordered these pencils sometime last week. Can't remember where I saw them, but I am so glad I did.  Write With Moxie is an eco-friendly writing goods company.  Here's what Lisa has to say:

When you surround yourself with pretty things, you tend to be more creative. This is the mantra that I have lived by over the last few years so when I set out to start an office line of products, I knew they had to be a bit out of the ordinary...oh and very pretty!

It took me a few minutes to decide what I really wanted to do with these pencils I found on her Etsy shop.  I was so excited for their arrival it inspired me to clean up my desk area/guest bedroom.

For the record, I am NOT creative at all.  I wish I was and I've been giving it the ole college try.  If you saw my "dining room table" photo awhile back, my desk looked 10 times worse.  I purged this past weekend and got rid of so much crap.  These are all the writing utensils that sit on my desk now.  Don't worry there is a gallon bag full of pens, highlighters, and pencils in the desk drawer just in case.

I picked up the ball small mason jar at Double Take, which is a huge consignment shop here in Santa Fe.  It was $3.00.  The other two glass jars I've had for years and used to hold tea lights (so over it).  They've been sitting in a cabinet.  I also had a bag of all these different colored paper clips and holders ect.  I decided to pick out two colors and bam. I stuck the pencils in the mason jar and that finished it.  Clutter free desk, and maybe one I actually want to sit down and do work at.

What's your at home office or desk situation organization trick?

The semester is quickly winding down.   Which means I have SO much to do again.  Yet, here I am blogging about Fridays.  I wanted to share something with you.  This video is so inspiring!  Hope it's a nice end to your week.  If you have seen this, you know what I'm talking about.

Colorful Tuesday

It's Tuesday.  Yesterday I was so sick, I didn't go to school (tisk).  But I got a good night sleep, got up early this morning and tried to start tackling things.  Unfortunately, I was pinterest derailed.  Thought I would share a few things I found this morning.  I'm especially drawn to the first two below, because like many other renters out there, a common restriction is no painting (not that I'd be able to paint anything anyways) but I feel like these pictures give so much color to plain white walls.

PS. Sent my mug today for Suzel Says Mug Swap...it took me a while but I feel like I finally found a mug Pamela will love!

Hope the beginning of the week has taken off without any major hiccups!

Fabulous Friday

Linking up again with Lauren From My Grey Desk for High Five for Fridays. Okay let's see here.  5 highs.  Goo.
Well
1.  On Sunday we had dinner over at our friends house.  This picture was taken in their backyard.  I know it doesn't look like it's outside, but it is.  Their house is super nice. Roy was really enjoying the fire.

2.  I've had all my necklaces on this stupid holder thing that I've had since I was probably 14.  I was at Target and of course I left with things I don't need.  Including...this little thingy with hooks.  I put it on my wall next to a big mirror.  I used those velcro strips that stick to the wall, they worked surprisingly well.  And I can also see what the heck is happening with all those necklaces.

3.  I have a very hard saying no to people when they ask me to do something.  In a nutshell I said I would go to this government meeting for the director of a shelter in New Mexico.  When the time actually came for me to go I was SO nervous.  In the end everything was fine, I learned a lot, and was glad I went.

4.  Sam and I made strawberry pancakes this morning.  Holy delicious face.  They were so good.

5.  We went for our first hike of the spring.  Since ski season is basically over and Roy's been cooped up inside so much we were all looking forward to it.  It was gorgeous.  Here are a couple pics

PS. 3 weeks of law school left.  It's so close.  But so far away at the same time.
